LAWATAN KE SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH DI BENTONG & KARAK

Pada 29hb April, JPKK telah melawat sekolah-sekolah di persekitaran Bentong dan Karak dengan tujuan untuk mengenal pasti pekerja-pekerja kontrak disitu dan memberitahu mereka tentang kewujudan JPKK dan bagaimana kami sebagai persatuan boleh membantu mereka. Kami telah melawat dalam 10 sekolah dan terdapat pekerja-pekerja yang mahu mendengar perjuangan kami dan ada yang merasakan hak mereka sebagai pekerja kontrak telah pun dijaga dan tidak berminat untuk mendengar. Kami juga hanya dapat berjumpa dengan pengawal keselamatan kerana pekerja pembersihan semua sedang bercuti.

Daripada respon pekerja, mereka mengatakan tiada masalah serta gaji dibayar mencukupi dan tepat pada masanya. Syarikat disana baru setahun memegang tender dan masih ada kemungkinan mereka tidak akan konsisten dengan kerja mereka. Tetapi, pekerja perlu sedar walaupun kontraktor sekarang beroperasi tanpa salahlaku, kontraktor seterusnya yang baru mungkin tidak akan mematuhi undang-undang akta kerja, seperti yang berleluasa di seluruh Malaysia.
