Harini ini JPKK memantau keadaan pekerja pengawal keselamatan & kebersihan di 10 sekolah dan 1 Hospital sekitar kawasan Tampin & Alor Gajah.

Situasi adalah sangat merunsingkan & membebankan bagi pihak pekerja. Pelbagai aduan & rintihan kami terima, dan semua nya sedih belaka. Rata-rata pekerja masih belum dibayar gaji minimum nasional RM1200 dan masih belum diberikan hak asasi minimum cuti tahunan 8 hari. Majikan merahsiakan kadar gaji minima pekerja yang sepatutnya dari pekerja!

Majoriti majikan/kontraktor juga gagal membayar bayaran overtime (OT) dengan tepat. Situasi ini lebih menyedihkan sekiranya kita ambil kira fakta bahawa, setelah setahun pandemik COVID berlalu, hospital terus beroperasi & sekolah kembali dibuka, tetapi mereka masih belum di-iktiraf sebagai frontliner, masih dianggap sebagai sumber tenaga murah yang hanya layak diupah dengan gaji yang hina dan boleh dibuang bila-bila masa.

Di mana kah kesudahan nya? Sudah dilanda pandemik global, tetapi kita masih belum sedar, siapakah barisan hadapan yang sebenar, siapa lagi kalau bukan CLEANER & PENGAWAL KESELAMATAN? Bukan kah kerja mereka sememangnya nyata mereka di barisan hadapan? si tukang periksa suhu, si tukang tulis nama pengunjung. Bagaimana pula dengan cleaner? Sampah, sisa tandas, dan kesihatan seluruh staf hospital, guru, dan murid sekolah bergantung kepada mereka. Tanpa mereka, hospital & sekolah hanya lah kilang penyakit.

Sudah sampai masa kita tamatkan penindasan & penghambaan zaman pasca-moden ini. Marilah kita bantu bina alternatif & masa depan yang lebih cerah untuk pekerja tulang belakang masyarakat yang sebenar.
